Holly Rood has hosted many events over the years. From anniversaries  to sweet sixteen parties, everyone is welcome to share the beauty of Holly Rood. We've had Civil War re-creations, private suppers and Spirit Walks where our guests witness history unfold through talented actors and guest speakers. But Weddings are our favorite event! Holly Rood was built between 1814 -1816. It is a beautiful, Federal style brick house which is a perfect setting for events of every kind, especially weddings! The Bride can be confident the lovely antique furnishings, and large, gracious rooms will enhance her wedding theme. Party tents may also be erected on the level grassy lawn at the front or side of the house.

Beautiful french doors open up to a large brick patio in the back of the house. The flow-through style of the house allows the bridal party to circulate and mingle throughout the house and lawn.

We have a large, functional kitchen with ample counter space for caterers. We can also provide dishes, silverware, serving pieces, and cookware for family style meals and receptions. There is a refrigerator, two stoves, and an additional prep area with dishwasher.

Holly Rood, in Winchester, Kentucky is in the southeastern Blue Grass region. This is the perfect location for a destination wedding. Nearby is the beautiful Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge area which offers hiking, camping, and rock climbing.
